Undergraduate General Education Courses

The undergraduate business program includes Wayne State's general education requirements, business foundation, core, major, and elective courses.  The business school also has specific general education requirements for undergraduate students, listed below.

All undergraduate business students are required to take the following general education courses, regardless of their major, unless otherwise noted.

These requirements are specific to the business school.  Undergraduates must also meet the requirements for the remaining general education categories.

Each course is three credit hours unless noted otherwise. Students are responsible for observing all prerequisites.  Course details are available by clicking each course link.

Business students should consult an advisor for specific information on satisfying these requirements and ensuring any selected courses are consistent with academic requirements of the business school.

Life Science Group Requirement (CS)

PSY 1010  Introductory Psychology (4 credits)

Note: This course is a recommendation from the business school. Other courses are available that satisfy the Life Science Group Requirement.

Critical and Analytic Thinking Requirement (CT)

BA 1010  Critical Thinking for Consumer Decisions

Note: This course is a recommendation from the business school. Other courses are available that satisfy the Critical and Analytic Thinking Requirement.

Social Science Group Requirement

ECO 2010  Principles of Microeconomics
or
ECO 2020  Principles of Macroeconomics

Note: ECO 2010 and ECO 2020 are both required to fulfill the business foundation course requirements.
