Learn to better negotiate deals and manage relationships in MGMT 7780

In business as in life, you don’t get what you deserve. You get what you negotiate. A new management course coming to Wayne State's Oakland Center this winter will help provide students with the tools to negotiate more effectively ... in business and life.

Concepts and Processes of Dispute Resolution I: Negotiating Theory and Practice (MGMT 7780) will be offered during the Winter 2015 semester. The class takes place on Thursdays from 6 to 8:45 p.m at the Oakland Center in Farmington Hills. The course is taught by Marick Masters, a professor of management in the School of Business and director of Labor@Wayne.

“These skills are important because negotiation is a life skill that influences the extent to which students can realize their professional, personal, and social objectives,” Masters said. “We negotiate almost on everything, from a job offer and work assignments to commercial transactions and forming joint ventures.”

The three credit class is open to any student pursuing a master’s degree at the university, but will be a required course for those seeking a Master of Arts in Employment and Labor Relations or Dispute Resolution.

Registration for the course is now open. You can find out more details here.
