Detroit Young Professionals group encourages WSU students to join their team

Detroit Young Professionals (DYP) is looking for new executive team members to join several of their committees. The organization is interested in hearing from Wayne State University students who may be looking for volunteer and networking opportunities.

Founded in 2007, DYP began as a grassroots collective of diverse individuals with a passion for cultivating creativity, entrepreneurship and a spirit of community in metropolitan Detroit. Since then, the organization has evolved into an independent nonprofit organization with one of the largest networks of young leaders, innovators and change makers in Southeast Michigan.

According to DYP, the volunteer opportunities currently available would be best suited for students looking for experience in marketing, finance or sales, or for anyone that may just be looking to become more involved with the community and network with other young professionals.

“Our positions are meaningful in that they allow members to become deeply connected and involved with the wonderful progressions taking place in downtown and midtown Detroit right now, while also allowing them the opportunity to grow professionally,” said DYP’s Whitney Griffin. “Additionally, because we are a network comprised of young professionals, these positions won’t require more than 10 hours a week.”
