WSU School of Business Administration to host "Meet the Accounting Firms" Career Fair

It’s a great time to be a Warrior in the School of Business … especially if you’re an Accounting Warrior!

Wayne State accounting students are invited to attend the "Meet the Accounting Firms" Career Fair on Thursday, Sept. 18, from 3-6 p.m. in the McGregor Memorial Conference Center.  This fair is exclusively for public accounting firms. Accounting majors, graduate students, and other business students specifically interested in public accounting are invited to attend.

Students should come prepared to network with 13 of the top accounting firms in the area, including Baker Tilly, Deloitte, Plante Moran and UHY.

Here are some tips from the Career Planning and Placement Office to help you get ready for the fair:

  • "Make sure you create or update your account on waynebizcareers.com," says CPP Director Emily Kravetz. "You’ll need your account ready in order to apply to any of the open positions available." Kravetz says most of the attending firms will require students to apply for the positions on waynebizcareers.com and on the company’s website.
  • Appropriate business attire is required for entry into the fair, so look your absolute best.
  • Attend the "Meet the Accounting Firms Career Fair" Prep Workshop on Wednesday, Sept. 17, to get ready. It will be from 4:30-5:30 p.m. in the Prentis 27. CPP plans to have full attendance for this event so reserve your seat ASAP by visiting waynebizcareers.com and clicking on "Events."

The Career Day Career Fair for all business majors is Thursday, Oct. 2. Stay tuned for more information.
