CARMA February webcast features three internationally renowned researchers

On February 21, Wayne State University’s Center for the Advancement of Research Methods and Analysis (CARMA) will host another informative webcast. This event will feature live webcasts from three presenters: Ann Langley from HEC Montreal, David J. Woehr from University of North Carolina at Charlotte and Hannah R. Rothstein from Baruch College.

Schedule

Noon:

Langley’s presentation on "Process Research" conveys that research questions that deal with processes of change and evolution over time are critical to achieving a full understanding of organizational phenomena.

1:30 p.m.:

Woehr’s "Alternative Approaches to Modeling MTMM Data in Organizational Research" presentation provides a review and overview of multitrait-multimethod (MTMM) method, the use of confirmatory factor analysis (CFA)-based models to evaluate MTMM data and examines the potential of generalizability theory (G-theory) methods for modeling MTMM data. The overall goal of the presentation is to highlight the linkage between CFA-based and G-theory-based approaches.

3:00 p.m.:

Rothstein will present "Total Recall: The lifetime and shelf life of meta-analyses" illustrating how the "best practices" in research synthesis have changed over the years, and argue that these changes have important implications for our reliance on old meta-analyses.

CARMA’s next webcast will be April 11.
