WSU featured in The Princeton Review's "Best 295 Business Schools: 2014 Edition"
The Wayne State University School of Business Administration is once again one of the nation’s most outstanding business schools, according to the education services company The Princeton Review. The company features the business school in the 2014 edition of its guidebook, "The Best 295 Business Schools."
According to Robert Franek, Princeton Review senior vice president and publisher, "We recommend Wayne State as one of the best institutions a student could attend to earn a business school degree. We chose the schools we profile in this book based on our high regard for their academic programs and our reviews of institutional data we collect from the schools. We also solicit and greatly respect the opinions of students attending these schools who rate and report on their experiences at them on our 80-question student survey for the book."
The 295 schools were selected based on surveys by more than 20,300 students and data from school administrators. The survey discussed academics, student body, campus life and career plans. The Princeton Review does not rank the business schools featured in the book on a single hierarchical list from 1 to 295.
The review stated that a strong alumni network, evening classes and flexible online class schedules as the top reasons students selected the program. The review recognizes that the majority of the students work full-time while pursuing their degree.
"WSU is an urban research-centered school, so if you were interested in being a researcher there are some great opportunities here," one student said.
Another student stated that, "The downtown campus is set in an urban environment that helps students get an education above and beyond classroom lectures, and because some adjunct professors who teach the MBA classes work for local companies, participation in the program is great for networking, not only with instructors but also with working classmates."
"The School of Business Administration is devoted to providing students with the resources they need to be successful in the workplace," said Margaret Williams, interim dean of WSU’s School of Business Administration.
