Working Papers

  • [WP #1] Moderating Effect of Virtual Community Heterogeneity on Usage Intention
    • The importance of virtual communities has grown dramatically as these communities provide an evolving channel to disseminate information. As such, these virtual communities can influence the decisions of individuals, yet can also be heavily influenced by opinion leaders. This research develops and tests a conceptual model that captures the determining factors of user engagement and opinion leadership as indicators of active participation in various virtual communities.
  • [WP #2] An Empirical Test of a Social Media Engagement Model
    • With the increased use of social media by consumers, social media interactivity has become an important issue for academicians and managers. This study develops a social media engagement model to investigate how various social media attributes influence social media satisfaction and engagement. The results show that the relationship between the social media attributes and engagement is mediated by social media attitude, group identity, and informational use.
  • [WP #3] Cultural Values Effect on Millennials E-Retail Site Usage
    • The purpose of this research is to test an online shopping behavioral model that contains e-retail site quality factors, loyalty, usage intention and usage and then to examine how various cultural dimensions influence the evaluation and usage of e-retail sites by millennial online shoppers.
  • [WP #4] Empirical Evaluation of Firms’ Business Analytics Task Orientation: Text Mining Analysis
    • Business analytics are performed by firms for many varied reasons. This study focuses on understanding the business analytics task orientations and the tools adopted by U.S. firms. The SPED taxonomy of business analytics task orientation is empirically evaluated using text-mining analysis. Cluster analysis is utilized to validate the four types of business analytics task orientations using text-mining analysis results as input.
